Daniel has been the Independent Member of Quartz Wealth’s Investment Committee since July 2016.  Daniel is an independent consultant and director who provides Quartz Wealth with impartial views on our investment philosophies and ideas as well as contributing his knowledge of the local and global marketplace.

A specialist investment actuary, Daniel is particularly well-versed in the theory and practice of asset-liability management for institutional investors. Daniel brings a strategic focus on investing not simply to meet arbitrary return targets, but rather to manage risk and meet obligations.

Until late 2014, Daniel was the Head of Consulting for a successful New Zealand investment consultancy, where he consulted directly to key clients including not-for-profit entities, Crown Financial Institutions, superannuation schemes and KiwiSaver providers.  He now runs his own niche consultancy, providing high-impact, strategic advice to large investors.

Daniel is a member of the Board of the National Provident Fund and the Education Benevolent Society, and is an independent member of the Fidelity Life Asset and Liability Management Committee and the Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust's Investment Committee. He is also the Convenor of the Retirement Income Interest Group of the New Zealand Society of Actuaries.
